The World Swing Dance Council (WSDC) seeks dedicated individuals with deep connections in the global West Coast Swing community to serve on the WSDC Executive Board.

Position: Executive Board Member (unpaid volunteer)

Responsibilities:

• Work with fellow Board members on strategic planning and long-term vision
• Lead various operational and logistical efforts
• Draw on your community network to support the WSDC mission
  Communicate clearly with the Board and community stakeholders
• Review budgets to ensure fiscal health and accountability
• Lead committees and initiatives
• Complete Board-related administrative tasks

Qualifications:

• At least five years of deep contribution to the West Coast Swing community
• Strong collaboration, communication and leadership skills
• Ability to represent the perspective of the West Coast Swing community in Europe and elsewhere outside the USA

Assets:

• Proven strategic planning and problem-solving ability
• Experience with operational logistics, budgets, and analytics
• Administrative experience
• Skills in external communications
• Experience with operational finances

Non-legacy members serve a 3-year term that can be renewed twice.
Commitment:

• Three two-day in-person meetings per year (two in the USA, one in Europe).
• Expenses are covered up to a set budget. Remote attendance is supported.
• Two general meetings annually, in person or remote
• Monthly Zoom meetings (currently the second Tuesday, 1-4pm Eastern Time)
• Minimum 10-15 additional hours per month for committee and operational work
