Scoring Systems

To ensure the accuracy and security of the scoring systems used for WSDC Jack and Jill contests at West Coast Swing events, a scoring audit is being done on any scoring system used at WSDC Registry Events in the past few years. The goal of the audit is to:

  1. 1. Test the scoring system by computing/simulating multiple scoring and data security scenarios
    2. Evaluate the performance of the system against Section 6 of the World Swing Dance Council (WSDC) Registry Event Rules
    3. Determine if the scoring system meets these requirements
    4. Recommend corrective actions (if needed) to bring the scoring system into compliance with the WSDC Registry Event Rules
    5. Reevaluate the system after these inadequacies have been resolved

The scoring systems in compliance with the WSDC Registry Event Rules by the end of the year will be listed on the WSDC website so that Registry Events know which systems have been vetted and approved by the WSDC and can be utilized by Event Directors.
